We have developed a recovery-oriented, person-centered workforce that can successfully provide recovery support services for adults and adolescents. We partner with community groups, organizations, schools, and government agencies to facilitate recovery support groups, life skills training, family support services, anger management and community outreach.

UVA one on one2Unlimited Visions, while dedicated to helping those struggling with a substance use disorder, cares about educating people so they can avoid developing a substance use disorder. We have two Prevention services that show the benefits from abstaining from alcohol and drugs, Youth Prevention Indicated (YPI) and Youth Prevention Selective (YPS). The goal of our youth prevention indicated (YPI) services is to show through personalized interaction the benefits of abstaining from alcohol and drugs. While YPI is actively involved in the schools, our prevention specialists also connect with the community through nature maintenance, coalition involvement, city council appearances, and elderly engagement. Our services are offered through groups, individual sessions, volunteering and presentations. Any potential participant, parent, and/or organization can gain more knowledge by contacting our Baytown location.

The goal of our youth prevention selective (YPS) services is to educate parents and children about establishing boundaries and making healthy choices. Our prevention specialists give presentations tailored to youth and adults. The following topics have been discussed:

  • Developing a Positive Response
  • Developing Positive Parental Influences
  • Developing Independence and Responsibility
  • Raising Resilient Youth
  • Getting Real

Our services are offered through groups, individual sessions, parent groups, and case management. Any potential participant, parent, and/or organization can gain more knowledge by contacting our Baytown location.

Our Recovery Support is divided into two teams, Recovery Support Services (RSS) and Youth Recovery Community (YRC). Both RSS and YRC provide services that help meet the needs of participants, their families, and the community to help them on their journey of recovery. YRC caters to the adolescent population in recovery while RSS focuses on the adult population.

Ruthie Beck

Greetings to all our potential participants, those in recovery, family members and loved ones,

Being a person in long-term recovery, I’ve observed the substance abuse field for many years. I realized my gifts of compassion, listening, and giving fit perfectly into this field. I was encouraged to enroll in classes to be a licensed chemical dependency counselor and I have continued in this field to this day. With over 25 years in the substance abuse field, and 12 years at UVA, I know that we have the resources to provide you the specialized services needed.

As the Director of both Prevention and Recovery Support Services, I am dedicated to meeting the needs of UVA’s diverse group of participants. We administer services to our participants and their communities. My prevention staff is constantly developing new activities and events to educate adolescents and young adults about the importance of prevention and abstinence. My Recovery Support staff is equally busy working with adolescents, adults, and family members to support them in their recovery.

I’m excited about the changes we will use to evoke change for you and your family. You are welcome to call us with any questions you may have. We look forward to meeting and partnering with you and your loved ones. With us, participants can rediscover who they are.

Your vision of recovery starts here,

~Ruthie Beck
